Stephen Briggs farms arable crops and apple trees using agroforestry techniques in Cambridgeshire. He is a tenant farmer on 250 acres of land in the fertile fens and also runs a consultancy, Abacus Agriculture, providing targeted advice to farmers and land managers across the UK. This podcast episode also profiles an event which took place at Stephen’s farm while I was there. Organised by the Woodland Trust the event brought farmers, landowners and advisors together to discuss the Defra Command paper on the future of food and farming.
Great interview on a pioneering farmer delivering the win win of agroforestry- an excellent example of sustainable farming delivering high quality food alongside environmental enhancement.
