Farmageddon – How do we create change?

Over the last few years there have been a string of ‘organidocs’, documentaries regarding the organic movement and the problems within the global food industry, attempting to send the message out about the ‘real’ state of the global agricultural situation to a wider audience. When I watch them, as someone who is already aware, I cannot help wondering if it really is the best method to get people buying and growing organic produce. I applaud their messages and it saddens me to learn of all the individual cases they present but the trouble with a documentary (or a book, an article or an essay for that matter) is that it is very easy for the engagement to end when the film, book or article ends. How do we convince people to change their behaviour once they have been educated to the situation we find ourselves in?
